Cat Cox MA DFAstrolS

I began my astrological training in 1984 having always had a fascination with the stars and with the magical world. I hold the Faculty of Astrological Studies’ Diploma (1996), for whom I currently teach, the traditional horary training awarded by John Frawley (2003), and the MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology from Bath Spa University, awarded in 2007.

My approach to astrology is to blend a modern psychological perspective with the rigor and spiritual insight of traditional practice. My work is influenced by an interest in the Western Mystery Tradition and in women’s spirituality, and incorporates elements of Vedic astrology. I am a member of the Association of Professional Astrologers International and the Astrological Association.

In addition to astrological consultation, I run experiential teaching workshops. I am currently co-facilitating a series of workshops entitled Embodied Astrology, which draws together a range of techniques including guided visualisation and astro-drama, together with astrological teaching, and supports this within a philosophical framework which recognises that our world is alive, animate and divine. Other series have been variously entitled ‘Astrology for Women’ and ‘Astrology for the Soul’, which explore the symbolic building blocks of astrology; the signs, planets and houses, and the deep mythic stories which are woven through its symbolism.
