Acupuncture for Spinal Cord Injuries

A study published in the June issue of the journal “Acupuncture in Medicine” found significant improvements in spinal cord injury patients who received twice weekly treatments of acupuncture and those who received massage therapy. Acupuncture patients fared better in ratings of worst pain intensity at the end of treatment. When patients were checked two months later, six of the 15 acupuncture patients and one of the 15 massage patients still had favorable effects from the treatment.
